Cardura selectively and competitively blocks postsynaptic alpha-1-adrenergic receptors on smooth muscle surrounding blood vessels and in the prostate and bladder; this causes blood vessels to relax and let blood flow easier. Thus it has hypotension effect. The drug is used for treatment of arterial hypertension and congestive heart failure.

Dosage and directions
Dosage depends on your condition and should be administered by your doctor, for hypertension it varies between 1-16 mg daily and for benign prostatic hyperplasia is does between 1-8 mg daily.
